I have 15 years of experience in both individual and group therapy, addressing issues from depression to anxiety, codependency to perfectionism.
My particular areas of interest are women’s issues, infertility/postpartum/parenting issues and multiculturalism/acculturation. My own cultural background as a biracial Asian provider informs my practice.
I grew up in Southern California and did my undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My graduate work was at California State University, Long Beach in Social Work.
I also lived and travelled abroad and as a Peace Corps volunteer in southern Africa prior to focusing on my clinical training.
Jennifer Overley, LCSW
My professional experience began working with teens and youth and expanded into adults with a wide range of issues and diagnoses.
I co-facilitated an intensive group outpatient program for adults who had very high degrees of depression and anxiety and helped them focus on gaining coping skills within a short amount of time and get back to a functional level.
Since starting my private practice, my specialties have focused on women’s issues, including the fertility journey into the postpartum period and then into parenting concerns.
I am also acutely attuned to issues of multiculturalism and acculturation.
