I have long been passionate about the role of culture in shaping our experiences, values, and identity. I work to understand each person’s unique ethnic and cultural background, including how it influences their perspective, relationships, and the ways they have been treated in society — from overt discrimination to subtle microaggressions.
For individuals whose families have immigrated within the last few generations, differences in language, values, and expectations can present additional challenges that require understanding and attunement. I aim to support clients in exploring, understanding, and celebrating their culture of origin, integrating cultural awareness into the therapeutic process for a more authentic and empowering experience.
