I provide online therapy for adults in both California and Virginia. I do not see minors or couples.
The way in which I approach therapy is eclectic—meaning I draw from a variety of modalities (types) of therapy in working with clients.
This is in keeping with my belief that every individual is different and what works best for one person may not resonate with another. I have what’s called a “trauma-informed” lens, which means that I take into consideration difficult situations that an individual may have experienced early on that influences how they manage things in the here and now.
The word ‘trauma’ includes physical, emotional and sexual abuse and neglect (what we call big T trauma) as well as what is encapsulated in “little t” trauma—such as having parents that may have been emotionally unsupportive, bullying as a child, a significant change of environment, grief/loss of important loved ones, etc.
I strive to have a warm and unconditionally accepting approach in treatment.
I also value being honest and upfront about the areas where I see opportunities for change.
A big part of how I approach online therapy is to ensure I provide practical tools in each session. At the end of every visit, I want a client to have something to work on between sessions—whether that be a new coping strategy, a homework assignment like trying a new guided meditation or a journal entry or a new perspective to work on.
The more consistently that clients are able to apply these new tools, the more they will see shifts in how they feel.
Insurance & Fees
I think it’s important that therapy be accessible and affordable.
For those with other insurance providers, I can provide a superbill as an out of network (OON) provider. As an OON provider, you would reimburse me directly for your session and then submit your superbill to your insurance provider and they would reimburse you a certain amount for each session.
My private pay rate is $130 per session.
Business hours:
My hours are Monday-Thursday, 9:00-4:00 Pacific Standard Time (12 noon-7 pm Eastern Standard Time), Fridays 8:30 am-2:30 pm PST (11:30-5:30 EST).
